ALCOHOLISM

•More than 31 per cent Indians are current drinkers

•Tendency of binge drinking among Indian teenagers aged between 15-19 years (WHO)

•Lowest recorded age at first drink is 13 according to literature, but on the ground situation can be even worse

•Consumption by school children shows an upward trend

•36% of Christian men consume alcohol (NFHS -5, 2021); society associates Christianity with higher alcohol consumption

•Proven reason for physical and mental health issues, aimless living, poverty, violence (murder, rape etc), discord in family, strained relationships.

LET'S PRAY

•Alcoholism will be realized as a social evil

•Normalization of alcoholism among Christians will end

•There will be multi pronged intervention among youngsters that will deter them from experimenting with alcohol.

•Christian homes will have the right models…will be protected from evil forces.

•Teachers and influencers to set the right example.
